Ann-Marie Kjellander

Ann-Marie Kjellander, born in 1942, has been a foreign correspondent in Rome since the 1960’s. She was also the president of both the Foreign Press Association in Italy and the local president for the Swedish Women’s Education Association

During her term Villa San Michele’s weakened structure was reinforced. The interiors were remodelled. The aim was to allow the exhibition material to show how the rooms were used during Munthe’s time.

The garden was trimmed to provide a better perspective and wider vistas. Under Kjellander’s direction, the public was invited to a series of evening programmes in the villa and the long summer evenings were used for outdoor concerts.
