Foto: Peter de RuTours of Villa San Michele have been conducted by curators and guides, generally young women, who in the past were recipients of scholarships to study language, which also included guiding.
They were Swedish students of art or archeology who received free accommodation and a small salary for an opportunity to improve their Italian and their knowledge of Italian culture.
Under Josef Oliv the guides wore Swedish folk costumes on special occasions.
Occasionally actors have helped out as guides. Inga Tidblad, Gösta Cederlund and Viveca Serlachius are among those who were guests at Villa San Michele during the 1950’s.
