Lia is a very beautiful woman, determined, and reserved. Lorenzo Musicò (Dairo Aita), the son of the town's boss, is immediately captivated by the girl's proud and elusive gaze. However, Lia rejects his advances, provoking the young man's anger, and he decides to forcefully take what has been denied to him. When a reparatory marriage is proposed to Lia, the girl goes against these unwritten social rules and does something that no one could have ever imagined at that time: she refuses the wedding and decides to take both Lorenzo and his accomplices to court.
Primadonna was awarded the Premio Visionaire 2023, a price established in 2018 in collaboration with Villa San Michele for a young Italian female film maker.
