When in Rome is a romantic comedy and a triangle drama about two men and one woman in their sixties. In the eternal city, Johannes (Rolf Lassgård) unexpectedly runs in to the Danish couple Gerda and Kristoffer (Bodil Jørgensen and Kristian Halken) who have travelled there to celebrate a life long marriage. But Kristoffer doesn't know that Gerda och Johannes had an affair many years ago, when he was her teacher. When in Rome is a comedy about daring to explore one's limits and rediscover both yourself and others in the process.
