VILLA SAN MICHELE among the ten most beautiful
parks in Italy 2011
For 2011, the garden of Villa San Michele, was included among the finalists of the competition "The most beautiful park in Italy: the winner will be selected during the summer. A prestigious award, to enter in top ten, already received the last time in 2009. The garden of Villa San Michele lies hidden, like an impenetrable secret, between high white walls, like a secret place, accessible only to a privileged circle. Even from the outside you can admire the white columns supporting the pergola or the chapel with the legendary Sphinx guarding the surrounding nature. Due to its location and its authenticity, the garden is kept fresh and green throughout the year. The ten most beautiful parks in Italy 2011, were selected from seven members among the most recognized nationally and internationally as experts and specialists. Here is the jury: Vincenzo Cazzato , Alberta Campitelli , Marcello Fagiolo , Ines Romitti, Rossella Sleiter, Luigi Zangheri , Margherita Azzi Visentini. The most beautiful park is a national competition dedicated to parks and gardens, which aims to enhance the priceless heritage of parks and gardens present in our country, helping to stimulate interest and sensitivity towards green in its most sublime figures . The other gardens chosen among the jewels of the Italian peninsula are: Giardini Botanici Hanbury (Ventimiglia), Giardino di Villa Durazzo (Pallavicini a Genova-Pegli), Vittoriale degli Italiani (Lago di Garda), Giardini della Villa Medicea di Castello, Villa Gamberaia, (Settignano), Villa Lante (Bagnaia), Giardino di Ninfa (Latina), Villa Rufolo (Ravello), Giardino della Kolymbetra, (Valle dei Templi - Agrigento).
