June 6, 8.00pm Swedish Film Goes Capri - It could have been us (Italian premiere)

This documentary follows two friends, Emma Örtlund and Ida Johansson, both born with intellectual disabilities, as they embark on a journey across Sweden in an old camper alongside their friend and mentor, Pär, to explore what it meant to live with Down syndrome in a different era. In the early 20th century, thousands of people with disabilities were separated from their families and placed in institutions, isolated from society. Who were these people, and what happened to them? It Could Have Been Us is a poignant story of darkness and light, ultimately offering a message of reconciliation and hope.
