Villa San Michele hosts three encounters of The international literary festival Le Conversazioni June 27, 28 and 29 at 7:00 pm. This years theme is Betrayal.

Marina Sagona is an Italian artist who lives and works in New York since 1995. At Le Conversazioni she presents her book La Commedia della donne, in which her painting of the various female figure of Dante’s Divine Comedy are accompanied by stories written by nine acclaimed American female writers.

The novels of Eraldo Affinati often revolve around defining moments of the history of mankind. Some of his books have been nominated to Italy's most prestigious literary awards, like L'uomo del futuro (Man of the Future) 2016. He's latest novel Il vangelo degli angeli (The Gospel of the Angels) came out in 2021.

Swedish Nina Stemme is considered the most important dramatic soprano of our time. She inaugurates Villa San Michele's classical concert series Summer Dreams with the virtuos Roland Pöntinen at the piano. Their program consists of Richard Wagner's Wesendoncklieder, the cabaret songs by Kurt Wiell and nordic romances by Jean Sibelius e Wilhelm Stenhammar. This is an evening you cannot miss!

Mezzosoprano Ann Hallenberg is well known for her repertoire of older music, particularly Baroque. On Villa San Micheles magic outdoor stage, she will perform a wide range of songs in collaboration with the pianist Magnus Svensson. Together they will offer the audience a program containing Joseph Haydn to Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms and Edward Elgar. As a tribute to the Italian audience, they will finish with Gioacchino Rossinis La regata veneziana. Click here for the full program:

Tonight's performance is made up by a female duo, the soprano and singer of the Royal Court of Stockholm, Elin Rombo, and the pianist Sharon Rogers. They start with The Marriage of Figaro and continue with Scandinavian songs. Camerata Nordica consists of violinists Cellerina Park and Hanna Helgegren, Cédric Robin and Vladimir Percevic on viola, and cellists Sabina Sandri-Olsson and Zéphyrin Rey-Bellet. It is one of the most important ensembles of chamber music in Sweden, with musicians from various European countries. The concert has two parts, one dedicated to Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovski. Anders Paulsson, soprano saxophone and Jacob Kellermann, guitar, entertain tonight's concert audience with one of the most appreciated composer of our time, Italian Ennio Morricone, who, among his awards can count an Oscar and the Swedish Polar Prize. The pianist and conductor Vittorio Bresciani has played at the most prestigious concert venues and festivals in Italy and throughout the world. His concert is the last in this years series Summer Dreams and entirely dedicated to Claude Debussy. The year's theme of the cultural festival The Salon of the Sphinx, is conflict. Directly from Ukraine, Alibi Sisters will give a concert at Villa San Michele, August 26. The Salon will explore conflict in a broad sense, described through art, theatre, literature, food and music. Sneak preview of the film Corpo a Corpo (2021) directed by Maria Iovine. The film won The Millennial Award 2022, a price given by Le Visionarie, an organization which supports women in film, and Villa San Michele. Corpo a Corpo tells the story of Veronica Yoko Plebani, an Italian paraolympic triathlete who has become a front figure against body shaming in her home country. Before the screening, Maria Iovine and the president of Le Visioniare Giuliana Aliberti will be interviewed on stage.

Vernissage of the exhibit I Am A Woman, by the Swedish photographer Lotta Antonsson in the pavilion of Villa San Michele, Olivetum. Antonsson's collage och photography has both erotic, fashion och documentary connotations, presented in an allegoric and multifaceted limitlessness. Her works are often characterized by spacial formations where photography and objects are combined in an associative whole, with inspiration drawn from the 1960's and 70's.

Following the theme conflict, Italian actors Bianca Nappi and Giandomenico Cupaiuolo read extracts of Dialogue With Refugees by Bertolt Brecht, written in 1940 when Brecht himself was a refugee, and still topical. “The passport is the noblest part of a human being", says one of the protagonists. “… a human being is, in a certain sense, necessary for the passport. Swedish clarinetist Kjell Fagéus creates the musical bridges between the different dialogues.

Meet Rosalba Piccinni , entrepreneuse, singer and life artist. She attracts large audiences in Italy's most prestigious jazz clubs, but calls herself "cantafiorista" (the singing florist). Rosalba shares her time between the music and her soulful flower shops and restaurants in Milano and Bergamo, oases for harmonious togetherness, just like Villa San Michele. A reckless war is shaking up Europe, causing unimaginable suffering for Ukraine and its people. Directly from Kiev, the musical group Alibi Sisters, well known and loved in their home country, performs a unique concert at Villa San Michele, with the music of the different ethnicities of Ukraine, including Jewish klezmer and the music of the tatars of Crimea.

The sixth edition of the Landscape Festival (Festival del Paesaggio), curated by Arianna Rosica and Gianluca Riccio, celebrates the figure of Edwin Cerio on the occasion of the centenary of the "Conference on Landscape" (1922 - 2022), organized on the island in the summer of 1922 by the then mayor. Aria di Capri, That Capri Air, the title chosen for this new edition of the Festival, is also the title of a book published by Cerio in 1927, in which the caprese writer and intellectual imagined the island as a place that got continuously created and recreated by the words and images produced by the writers, poets and artists who have inhabited this extraordinary place.
