Friday, 1 August at 8:00 p.m. French Pianist Jean-Paul Gasparian in Concert at Villa San Michele
On Friday, 1 August at 8:00 p.m., the panoramic terrace of Villa San Michele will host the seventh concert in the series A Summer Dream. For the first time in Capri, acclaimed French pianist Jean-Paul Gasparian will perform a program dedicated to the great composers Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Franz Liszt and Giuseppe Verdi.Praised by critics, Le Monde journalist Marie Aude writes: “At 29, the young pianist is already clearly a master. His playing is direct, natural and brilliantly unpretentious. Gasparian journeys far and takes us with him.”
Born in Paris in 1995 to musician parents, Jean Paul entered the Conservatoire at age 14, later refining his artistry in London with Vanessa Latarche and in Italy with Elisso Virsaladze. Winner of major competitions and awards, he has performed at leading international festivals and with renowned orchestras, making his solo debut at the Philharmonie de Paris in 2022 with the Orchestre National d’Île de France.
In 2024, Gasparian released his sixth album (his second for Naïve), Origins, devoted entirely to Armenian music. The recording received a Diapason d’or and praise from Gramophone, which described him as “a musician of enormous imagination.”
The concert series continues until Friday, 8 August, with the support of Progetto Piano and under the patronage of the Embassy of Sweden
