Following the great success of the opening concert of the season, the second event of Villa San Michele’s concert series will take place on Friday, June 27 at 8:00 PM, featuring a program dedicated to the Baroque repertoire, hosted in the villa’s ancient medieval chapel.

The evening will feature three internationally renowned Swedish artists: mezzo-soprano Kristina Hammarström, recorder virtuoso Dan Laurin, and keyboardist Anna Paradiso Laurin. The program will include works by Antonio Vivaldi, Georg Friedrich Händel, and Caroline Ridderstolpe.

Described by the American press as the "Charlie Parker of the recorder," Dan Laurin is a unique figure in the world of early music. With a repertoire spanning from medieval to contemporary music, and known for his technical mastery and distinctive style, he is recognized as one of the world’s foremost recorder players.

Anna Paradiso Laurin is one of today’s most prominent keyboard artists. She is the only Swedish harpsichordist with an international solo career that also embraces contemporary music. In addition to piano, she specializes in historical keyboard instruments such as the harpsichord, fortepiano, clavichord, and baroque organ.

Kristina Hammarström enjoys a successful international career and has performed in the world’s leading opera houses, including La Scala in Milan, the Vienna State Opera, and the Paris Opera. Her notable roles include Penelope in Monteverdi’s Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria, Charlotte in Werther, and Isabella in Rossini’s L’italiana in Algeri. She has worked with renowned conductors and performed at major festivals worldwide.

The concert series continues every Friday until August 8, under the musical direction of Bo Löfvendahl, with the support of Progetto Piano and under the patronage of the Swedish Embassy.

Tickets (€20; reduced rate for youth and students: €10) are available at the ticket office 30 minutes before the concert, or in advance daily from 9 AM to 6 PM.

It is possible to return to Naples on the last ferry after the concerts have finished.
