The Final Concert of the Summer at Villa San Michele – Friday 14 August at 8 p.m.
The Un’estate per sognare concert series comes to an end with the talented pianist Antonino Caracò. Despite his young age, Caracò—who has previously performed at Villa San Michele—has already built an impressive career, receiving numerous awards and appearing at major festivals and events. The programme chosen for the Capri audience offers a journey through twentieth-century Italian piano music.
Works by Luigi Dallapiccola, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Nino Rota and Ennio Morricone reveal different approaches to musical tradition, despite the composers’ distinct styles. References to European musical forms and practices provide a common thread, together with a gradual expansion of the boundaries of tonality—not as a fixed system, but as a constantly evolving field of relationships.
From this perspective, each composer developed a distinctive musical language independent of the prevailing trends of the time, while maintaining a strong commitment to expression and communication through music.
The concert series is organised by the Axel Munthe Foundation, under the patronage of the Embassy of Sweden and with the support of Progetto Piano.
Reservations are recommended. Tickets cost €20, with a reduced price of €10 for young people and students, and may be purchased at the ticket office from 30 minutes before the concert.
